Most referrals to secondary care are sent via ERS and the Referral Management and Booking Service at Bexley Care Trust. They will be typed and attached to Choose & Book within a few days of seeing the GP. The RMBS will contact you to book an appointment within 10 working days. Please ensure you update us with any changes to your telephone numbers, including mobiles. Please phone us if you have not received an appointment within three weeks.
Private referrals need to be collected from reception and take three or four days after you have informed us of the name of the consultant you have booked your appointment with.
Letters and Forms
Letters to ‘Whom it may concern’ or forms which are filled in by the GP at the patient’s request do incur a fee. Please see list of charges displayed in our reception area and allow us three or four days.
Health Authority staff may Audit claims and so need to look at patients' notes (under supervision). You have the right to object, if you are concerned, on the grounds of confidentiality.
